Meet BINA team-Ms. Hefetz-Giterman Lior
Recently, I joined BINA's Characterization Unit, focusing on preparing biological samples for TEM & SEM. This new field has proven to be far more complex, challenging, and fascinating than I had ever anticipated
My background is rooted in psychology, psychopharmacology, neuropsychology, and psychobiology, with extensive experience in preclinical in vivo research across various therapeutic areas. My previous work integrated in vivo & vitro laboratory techniques, employing behavioral and molecular tools on rodent models.
Electron microscopy, particularly TEM and SEM, was entirely new to me. Despite the initial challenges, the exceptional support, patience, and expertise of my colleagues in the microscopy team have been instrumental in my learning and growth. Their guidance has not only helped me establish a solid foundation but also enabled me to contribute to several ongoing projects.
At BINA, I've immersed myself in the principles of electron microscopy and its applications in biological research. Our team has recently focused on the innovative field of cryo-preserved biology, utilizing cutting-edge technology to prepare samples under cryo conditions for advanced imaging techniques such as Cryo FIB-SEM imaging, sectioning, and Cryo TEM.
I'm profoundly grateful to be part of such a talented team and excited about the opportunities to contribute to our current and future projects. Working at BINA has been both enriching and inspiring, opening up new horizons in my scientific career.
