Freeze-Substitution Leica EM AFS2

Freeze-substitution (FS) is a process to replace ice crystals with an organic solvent containing fixatives. Subsequently, frozen tissue samples are embedded in plastic resin, revealing the morphology of cells and tissues closely resembling their native state.
