🚀 Exciting News! Introducing the High Energy Light Ion Microprobe for Ion Beam Research on the Tandem Accelerator 🎉

We are thrilled to unveil our latest advancement in research technology – a cutting-edge High Energy Light Ion Microprobe integrated with our existing 1.7 MV Tandem Accelerator. This innovative system is set to transform the landscape of material characterization and ion beam research, opening up possibilities for a wide range of applications.

🔬 Why Ion Beam Accelerators?
Ion beam accelerators are pivotal tools for non-destructive material characterization techniques, known as Ion Beam Analysis (IBA). These techniques offer near-surface composition analysis with exceptional precision. The unique analytical capabilities of IBA allow for interdisciplinary applications in material characterization, while the irradiation features facilitate industrial (ion implantation) and biomedical applications.

💡 Introducing the New High Energy Light Ion Microprobe
In response to the emerging demands in accelerator technology and the need for advanced ion beam research projects, we’ve introduced a high energy light ion microprobe on our existing tandem accelerator. The key highlight of this system is its impressive 2-micron spot size, enabling high-resolution surface imaging and depth profiling of various specimens.
The combination of high energies and advanced detection systems on this microprobe ensures:
High-sensitivity elemental composition analysis
Detailed depth profiling
Surface topography
3D surface reconstruction across a wide range of materials
This state-of-the-art facility will serve as a multi-user platform, providing unique capabilities to the Israeli research community across numerous key fields.

🌟 Key Research Applications Include:
Semiconductor Research: Investigate particle damage, multilayered electronic microsystems, and metallized contacts.
Materials & Solar Cell Studies: Analyze smart materials, industrial corrosion, wear, and activation of strategic materials.
Environmental Science: Dive deep into atmospheric aerosol studies on a microscopic scale.
