Conversion of LiMn2-xCoxO4 spinel on the basis of electrolytically Co-deposited Mn,Co-oxide precursors in a lithium battery

Joint electrolytic deposition of manganese and cobalt oxides in a prescribed stoichiometry, performed in the study, enables their further use to obtain a homogeneous Co-doped spinel LiMn2-x Co (x) O-4 by the thermal lithiation method. The thus synthesized spinel is characterized by a uniform distribution of particles with an average size of 1 mu m. Combined with acetylene black as an electrically conducting additive, the spinel steadily demonstrates in the redox reaction with lithium a reversible capacity of no less than 10(5) mA h g(-1) at 30th-40th cycles in the electrolyte composed of propylene carbonate, dimethoxyethane, and 1 M LiClO4.
