COST Action: CA17121 - Correlated Multimodal Imaging in Life Sciences
Organizing committee: Prof. Dror Fixler, Dr. Yossi Talyosef, Dr. Eti Teblum and Zehavit Titelbom
On May 18-19, 2022, the Institute of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials of Bar Ilan University are pleased to host the conference of the European COST action.
Conference title: Correlated Multimodal Imaging in Life Sciences
Short description of the meeting: During the last two years COMULIS team deals with two skin projects showcases. In our meeting, we present and conclude the results and get new inputs from researchers from the imaging field.
The main goals: The primary output we will achieve from this meeting is to define a system that enables the multidimensional assessment of ink type, concentration, and depth in a tissue-mimicking phantom background. This multidimensional data we acquired during the last months will allow both a high spatial and depth perspective of the clinical task, allowing for the best outcome of laser-based tattoo removal. This multi-modality inspection will help the physician set exact treatment parameters to get the best patient outcome.
Several secondary outputs we also want to achieve:
- Validation of the sensitivity and accuracy of the low-resolution methods to detect tattoo depth is due to the correlation with the high-resolution cross-section information.
- An image processing tool to stitch high-resolution cross-section data with bulk low-resolution methods.
- A visualization tool for viewing multi-modal images.
Rationale: The main objective is the combination of two or more imaging modalities. Our meeting addresses a key need in this area, namely, how can we store and share datasets consisting of data from as many as possible imaging modalities in a consistent way. The data format and companion tools we are using in this showcase enable the development of new dedicated software tools for the analysis of multi-modal data and also increase the ability to share multi-modal data between existing tools; using the best tool for the job at hand.
Address of the meeting venue: Institute of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials (BINA), Bar-Ilan University Ramat-Gan, 5290002 Israel. Building 206.
We will be happy to see you
We would like to take this opportunity to recommend a conference of the Israel Microscopy Association ISM2022 to be held on May 17, 2022, at the Sami Ofer Stadium, Haifa
