Student Scholarships, Awards, and Prizes

The past year has been challenging for our students; the COVID-19 global crisis has posed challenges we have never before had to face. During the pandemic, we witnessed their considerable efforts, their impressive ability to adapt to the frequent changes, and their genuine obligation to preserve excellence. In Prof. Shulamit Michaeli's Lab:

Ziv Orpaz won the 2021 Azrieli Award for doctoral students.

Sanaa Massarwi has been accepted to the PBC Fellowship Program for master’s researchers in the Arab sector.

The Alexander Kofkin Faculty of Engineering

In Prof. Avinoam (Avi) Zadok's Lab:

Gil Bashan was selected for the Adams Fellowship of The Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities for doctoral students.

In Dr. Amos Danielli's Lab:

Shira Roth w on the Outstanding Student Paper Award at Conference 11258 (Frontiers in Biological Detection: From Nanosensors to Systems), Photonics West, San Francisco, CA, and received a Scholarship for active participation in an international conference, given by the Ministry of Science and Technology (2020). 

Michael Margulis won the Excellence Award of The Israel Society for Medical and Biological Engineering (ISMBE); the Outstanding Student Paper Award at Conference 11258 (Frontiers in Biological Detection: From Nanosensors to Systems), Photonics West, San Francisco, CA, and received a Scholarship for active participation in an international conference, given by Ministry of Science and Technology (2020).

In Dr. Alon Shahar's Lab:

Michal Danino has been accepted to Intel’s 2021 Scholarship Program for Promoting Excellence and Diversity in Engineering and Science.

In Prof. Rachela Popovtzer's Lab:

Dr. Shir Hochwald-Liber has been selected for the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities’ five-year Emergency Postdoctoral Fellowships for Israeli Researchers in Israel. Earlier this year, Dr. Shir Hochwald-Liber completed her doctoral studies in Prof. Eli Sloutskin's Lab at the Department of Physics and has recently joined Prof. Popovtzer's research team.

Sapir Weitz Sobelman received the Scholarship for Master's Degrees for Outstanding Women in Hi-tech

Anshu Sirohi has been accepted to PBC Fellowship Program for Outstanding Chinese and Indian Postdoctoral Fellows (2020/2021).

 

The Department of Chemistry

In Prof. Dan Thomas Major's Lab:

Reem Tarabeh has been awarded the PBC Scholarship for master’s researchers in the Arab sector.

Orly Aminov received the Ministry of Science and Technology’s M.Sc. Scholarship in energy research. 

Shani Zev has been awarded the Yitzhak Navon Scholarship for excellent doctoral students, given by the Ministry of Science and Technology.


In Prof. Malachi Noked's Lab:

Dr. Rosy Sharma, a postdoctoral fellow, received the IVS-Intel-2020 Excellence Award for Outstanding Female Scientist, as well as an assistant professor position at the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU).

Dr. Ortal Lidor-Shalev, a postdoctoral fellow, has been awarded the Golda Meir Excellence Fellowship for Female Researchers.

Mohamad Hamuda was accepted to Intel’s 2021 Scholarship Program for Promoting Excellence and Diversity in Engineering and Science.
