Entanglement based Optical Transient Encryption
A novel technique for optical encryption is suggested. The proposed technique is based upon mixing the signal with significantly stronger noise level. Since the signal is strongly embedded below the noise level it is basically undetectable. The mixing is done via Mach-Zehnder interferometer configuration in which its two output channels obtained after the mixing have an entanglement. Only proper addition of those two channels together, both containing the signal mixed with the high level noise, may allow the separation of the signal from the strong noise. Taping to only one out of those two transmitted channels makes the task of separating the signal from the noise practically impossible. (C) 2010 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
