  • Revitalizing the silk route

The exhibition “The Jews in Modern China” housed in the BINA building, is a fascinating attest to the unceasing bond between the two ancient peoples. The exhibition, open to the public during the first semester of 2017, presents rare historic and personal photographs and filmstrips, focusing on Jewish migration to China over the last two centuries, including refugees who escaped Nazi Germany.
  • Hands-on chemistry at BINA

BINA hosted a Focused-Ion Beam (FIB) workshop, organized by the Graduate Student Division of the Israel Chemistry Society, attended by students from universities around the country, studying for advanced degrees in chemistry.
  • Fuelling the future

Driven by the conviction that in 30 years the world will run out of fuel, Dr. Lior Elbaz, a BINA faculty member and director of the Israel Fuel-Cell Consortium, goes full steam ahead to develop game-changing fuel cell technology - a cleaner, affordable alternative energy source intended for powering our future world.
  • Hacking brain signals

Imagine having tiny devices implanted in your nervous system, tracking brain signals to detect and treat a range of chronic diseases. That’s the aim of bio-electronic medicine — a rapidly advancing field in which Prof. Shimon Weiss is involved. A veteran biomedical entrepreneur recruited recently by BINA, Weiss heads the laboratory for Nano-Sensors in Brain Research, and is also a faculty member at UCLA.
  • Beauty is only skin deep

Injecting cosmetic drugs into the skin to gain a younger look involves invasive, painful procedures. Prof. Dror Fixler and a team of BIU researchers use innovative chemical and optical techniques to demonstrate that inserting nano-particles of these materials enhances their efficacy while eliminating the pain.
  • Greetings!
